Mardalsfossen The waterfall Mardalsfossen is a majestic sight you won't soon forget. With a total fall of 655 meter is it Northern Europe's highest waterfall. The vertical fall is 297 meter. In 1970 did the government decide that the waterfall should be used to produce electricity and the first "civilian disobedience" took place, also known as the "Mardøla action group". From 20. june to 20. august the waterfall although shows its powers, as it did before it was regulated. It takes about 20 minutes to walk up to the fall and you can actually go below it, but then you need a raincoat. Do not forget your camera.
